Presenting a poster at SMC-IT/SCC 2025 is a great opportunity to showcase your work, get feedback, network with peers, and learn from experts in the field of space computing. You will also have the chance to win the Best Poster Award, based on the voting by the Poster Program Committee.
Posters are especially suitable for presenting:
- Novel research ideas and preliminary results that have not been fully developed or evaluated.
- Ongoing projects and collaborations that demonstrate the state-of-the-art and the challenges of space computing.
- Practical experiences and lessons learned from implementing, testing, or operating space computing systems.

The New Ideas and Emergent Results Track of SMC-IT/SCC 2025 invites researchers, practitioners, students, and educators to submit abstracts for poster presentations that showcase innovative work and ideas in the field of space computing. Topics in scope include: Robotics, Cybersecurity, Networking, Memory and Storage, Advanced Ground Control, Advanced Modeling & Digital Twins for Onboard Systems, Data Analytics and Big Data, Fault-Tolerant Processing, Trustable Intelligent/Autonomous Systems, Smart Instruments, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality and HCI, Manufacturing and Assembly of Large Structures, Improved Operations, Software Reliability for Mission-Critical Applications and Safety of Life. High-Performance Onboard Computing, Components, Radiation, and Packaging, Computing Architectures, Flight Data Processing, Avionics Systems, Machine Learning/Neural Computing, Crew Interfaces, Extreme Environments Computing, Distributed Computing, Infusion and adoption of industry standards for space applications.
Presenting a poster is a unique opportunity to share your contributions with the community, receive valuable feedback, network with peers, and engage with experts.
Posters will be exhibited at the conference, and there will be dedicated sessions for the audience of the whole conference to interact with poster authors. Authors of poster submissions accepted to present at the conference will be given an opportunity to have a 2-page abstract included in the conference’s IEEE Proceedings, which will be publised on IEEE Xplore. Presenters will also be eligible for the Best Poster Award, as determined by the NIER Program Committee.
